Job Description:

Job Purpose


The jobholder is part of the sales team and will be based and working in Baghdad, Iraq (Hybrid) to cover sales and business development for all major cities of Iraq (Baghdad, Basra and Erbil). 
To promote and sell the complete range of dnata Travel Iraq products and ensure that dnata receive maximum exposure in the marketplace (corporate & B2b).

Accountabilities:


    Plan



  • Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline and convert prospects to clients. Supports the development of short-term and long-term sale strategies to ensure the accomplishment of company targets.  

  • Ability to generate revenue based on targets. 

  • Monitors competitor landscapes to develop sales strategies.

  • Acquires sales through the generation and follow-up of leads. Analyse customer behaviour to support client acquisition and retention.


          Lead



  • Working closely with the dnata Travel Erbil team with interaction and coordination with suppliers and various other inter departments. Collaboration with HQ and Regional Sales Teams and Client Relationship Managers.


          Execute



  • To effectively promote the sale of Dnata Travel Iraq products and services to the up-market clientele, government accounts, individuals of high net worth and key corporate houses, MNCs, SMEs, NGOs and the B2b Industry in Iraq.

  • Convert sales leads and market potential into materialized business through sales visits, cold calls, presentations and promotions thereby ensuring that the benefits of the products are fully understood and appreciated and revenue targets achieved as per the budgets.

  • Work independently on Travel Tenders / RFQs.

  • Monitor competitor activity and to keep abreast with market conditions, reporting opportunities / threats so that necessary action can be considered and taken by Management.

  • Create and maintain a customer database and prepare daily activity reports for Management.

  • Build and maintain a healthy and mutually beneficial relationship with customers ensuring that the highest level of customer service is provided.

  • Compile sales and business development plans to include SMART objective setting and the co-ordination of effective implementation through a focused sales effort ensuring all sales and marketing activities generate required bottom line results.

  • To co-ordinate with principal on all distribution related issues and implement all necessary sales and business development tasks as required to be performed as directed by management.

  • To generate sales reports both pre and post sales calls and ensure that all market information and opportunities are given to management with recommendations.

  • To deliver sales targets and be accountable for generating the required sales from new customers.

  • Convert existing shared accounts to work exclusively with dnata Travel.

  • To co-ordinate with respective departments and business units and ensure all the sales and business plans are executed in a timely manner within budgets as per management requirements.

  • Any additional responsibilities assigned by management from time to time.

Job Requirements:

  • Iraqi National

  • Advanced’ level education or equivalent.

  • Minimum of 3 years sales experience in the travel industry with a reputed Travel Agency in Iraq.

  • Good track record of client acquisitions.

  • A thorough knowledge of Geography, travel and local, regional and international travel markets.

  • Standard fares and ticketing knowledge and a previous operations background would be an advantage.  

  • Excellent command of written and spoken English is essential.

  • Ability to communicate in Arabic (both written and verbal) would be required.

  • Able to work on Microsoft 365 – Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint and other intercompany business tools such as Salesforce.

  • Must be willing to travel across Iraq for sales activities.

  • Iraq driving license is mandatory.
