Butler America
is seeking an experienced technical writer to work in our writing group
authoring maintenance manuals.  This position is in support of contracted
technical manual revision services and the creation of new publications. The
writer’s duties would include researching, documenting, and authoring detailed
inspection and maintenance procedures to the governing specification. The
writer will be required to interface with engineers on occasion over the
content and review of the publications.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Technical Skills -
Experience with
writing maintenance procedures from engineering documentationAble to read and
interpret assembly/installation blueprints, technical manuals, and various
forms of engineering dataPossess strong analytical/editorial skillsProficient
with desktop publishing using content management software Experience with
SGML/XML structured document authoring such as EpicEditor or equivalentStrong
computer skills with a working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft
OfficePreferred, but not required:Experience in the aerospace fieldExperience
with military specification and standardsA&P mechanics license, or
equivalent military experience in aircraft maintenanceFamiliar with the use of
aircraft technical manuals and related technical dataExperience with Content@
content management software and XyVision publishing softwareExperience with
