Job Description:
Martin UAV is actively building a team of world-class engineers to develop revolutionary unmanned aircraft systems technologies. Martin UAV is seeking a first rate qualified aircraft manufacturing technician to work on composite aircraft production. This role is for a hands-on person with great attention to detail and excellent people skills. The technician in this position will work from engineering drawings and detailed work instructions to fabricate, install, and check out aircraft system hardware components including electrical and mechanical systems.
 
Responsibilities
  • Support and perform assembly, testing, and configuration of production V-BAT Unmanned
  • Aerial Vehicle (UAV) avionics as well as Ground Control Station (GCS), Ground Support
  • Equipment (GSE) and Ground Data Terminal (GDT) electronics
  • Coordinate with and assist other team members to ensure on-time delivery of aircraft.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, diagrams as well as work instructions and manuals related to avionics systems
  • Recognize, correct and document discrepancies of avionics components by removal, repair or replacement in air vehicles and ground equipment in production
  • Perform functional check-outs and repairs of R&D vehicles
  • Perform functional check-outs of new fully integrated air vehicles as well as R&D vehicles to include operating GCS, GSE, GDT and preflight checklists
  • Fabricates, upgrades, routes, and installs wiring harnesses
  • Disassembles, assembles, and adjusts electronic equipment
  • Interface heavily with engineering and manufacturing to assist in bringing new procedures and processes to the production floor
  • Assists in the troubleshooting, component removal and replacement, testing and documentation, utilizing approved technical publications, maintenance standards, and approved procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required
Job Requirements:
  • Ability to deliver great results in short amount of time with minimal outside direction
  • Experience working with Printed Wiring Assemblies (PWA) / Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBA’s) to include soldering, handling and inspecting for defects
  • Experience using proprietary software to perform configurations
  • Knowledge of IPC-A-620 and IPC-A-610 standards or similar guidelines of wiring harness and PWA acceptability
  • Experience using lab equipment such as Digital Multi-Meters (DMM), benchtop power supplies, resistive loads
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of relevant computer applications and operations
  • Basic leadership, organization and planning skills
  • Must be able to work both independently and on a team and be able to work extended hours as required
