Job Description:

The UAS/Drone Inspector at Bees360 is responsible for operating an unmanned aerial vehicle to capture aerial images and videos. This candidate will inspect structures for major insurance carriers for both underwriting and claims purposes. This candidate will ensure the safe and effective operation of the drone while adhering to all applicable laws and regulations governing UASs. This candidate will be responsible for maintaining their drone, performing routine checks, and replacing components as needed. Collaboration and communication skills are important as the candidate will work with insureds and carriers on inspections. This position requires quick-thinking, problem-solving skills, and good judgment to handle any unexpected challenges that may arise during a flight. 

Job Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Perform image data collection using high-resolution cameras via Android or IOS smartphone/Tablet and Drone. 
  • Conduct pre-flight and post-flight operations, including but not limited to airspace coordination, equipment assembly and tear down, and hazard mitigation. 
  • Follow the flight plan that outlines the inspection route, waypoints, and areas of focus to ensure comprehensive coverage. 
  • Employ proper flight techniques, including smooth maneuvers, maintaining appropriate distances from obstacles, and capturing images from multiple angles for accurate analysis. 
  • Troubleshoot technical challenges that may arise during the inspection, such as signal interference, battery life, airspace restrictions and limitations, and equipment calibration. 
  • Ensure data integrity by regularly checking for image quality, sensor accuracy, and proper data storage to minimize errors and inaccuracies. 
  • Perform quality checks on collected data to ensure accuracy and the client’s needs will be met. 
  • Adhere to protocols regarding project scope, PilotApp workflow, scheduling needs, deliverables, and follow-up. 
  • Interact with insureds to explain the nature of the work being conducted. 
  • Strong ability to learn and master software, data collection platforms, and associated workflows. 
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills. 
  • Must have and maintain a current FAA Part 107 Certification. 
  • Report incidents immediately to the Operations Manager or Coordinator. 
  • Effectively communicate with insured individuals, field inspectors, agents, and internal departments.  
  • Collaborate with internal parties to overcome barriers and ensure a positive customer experience. 
  • Foster a positive atmosphere of professionalism, collaboration, and support. 
  • Maintain a minimum of 40 hours per week, with the ability to work extended hours as needed. 
  • Perform other assigned duties. 
Job Requirements:
  • A high-resolution drone (DJI Preferred) that follows all FAA guidelines – approved equipment list will be provided upon request.
  • Adequate equipment to provide an 8+ hour daily workload.

  • Willingness to travel away from home and ability to drive for extended periods. 
  • Exposure to extreme weather conditions.

Education and training required (Minimum academic, commercial, and technical qualifications needed for performing duties of job): 

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Certification (Adjuster, FAA Part 107)
    • FAA Part 107 

Years of experience (Minimum previous experience required for performing the job): 

  • 1 - 3 years
