We are seeking an RC & Large Model Aircraft Pilot – UAS External Pilot (Manual LOS Flight) to conduct manual, line-of-sight (LOS) flight operations for Group 1,2,&3 unmanned aircraft systems in both testing and in operational environments. This role emphasizes hands-on stick-and-rudder flying, including manual takeoffs, pattern work, and landings, rather than automated or waypoint-based mission execution. The ideal candidate is comfortable controlling fixed-wing or small UAS from an external vantage point using traditional RC-style transmitters or manual ground control interfaces, with a strong ability to maintain orientation, manage energy, and execute stable approaches in varying conditions. Unlike many modern UAS roles, this position requires direct manual control of the aircraft rather than reliance on GPS waypoint navigation or automated flight modes. Candidates with radio control (RC), giant-scale model aircraft, aerobatic, or other manual flight backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Operate Group 1-2-3 UAS and/or RC equivalent aircraft utilizing a transmitter/control box/tablet generally within line of sight of the air vehicle to meet daily test objectives.
• Execute ground launch and recovery activities, including support equipment setup, aircraft staging, and post-flight safety actions when not actively controlling an aircraft.

Basic Qualifications:
• Education: High School Graduate.
• Experience: Experience flying remote-controlled fixed-wing aircraft and/or multirotor aircraft (hobby, club, competitive, or professional). Certain military UAS may also apply.
• Clearance & Citizenship: Secret Clearance or ability to obtain and maintain. Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Travel: Must be willing and able to travel inside an outside the continental United States.
• Certifications/Designations Required: Must be able to obtain and maintain an FAA Second-Class Medical Certificate.

Preferred Qualifications:
• An Associate’s degree or higher in a UAS, aviation, or engineering-related field is highly desired. Formal education or experience in test and evaluation is highly desired.
• 500 hours operating Group 1 and 2 UAS or equivalent-sized model aircraft is desired. Two years of RDT&E flight test experience is desired.
• Demonstrated familiarity with autopilot systems (e.g., Pixhawk or similar), Ground Control Stations (Arduplane) (Mission Planner), and UAS integration and modification is highly desired.
• Designation as an FAA Certificated Pilot or Military Pilot/UAS Air Vehicle Pilot by the U.S. Armed Forces is desired.
• FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate is desired.

We work with schools and organizations throughout the tri-state area and beyond, to bring life-changing technology education to students, families and under-served populations here and throughout the world. Drone Cadets is the most fun and engaging drone education program anywhere. We’ve helped teach 5,000+ students worldwide to become safe and responsible recreational drone pilots.

We are looking to find educators, drone professionals and post-secondary students willing to be trained and certified to teach our Drone Flight School curriculum in-person to children grades 2 – 12.

Right now, we are training instructors to start immediately and deliver Drone Flight School and enrichment programs in-person throughout the greater New York area. Many assignments will continue for the entire school year. Additionally, we always need instructors during the day in the summer, so we’re anxious to establish a continuing relationship.

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Part 107 Ground Support Operator to support daily operations for an advanced drone delivery program. The ideal candidate will hold a current FAA Part 107 certification and demonstrate excellent technical, operational, and communication skills to ensure smooth and safe drone operations in the field.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Setup and Maintenance
Set up nests prior to the start of operations and ensure readiness for the day.
Perform daily aircraft and flight-line checks, including pre-flight and post-flight inspections, as well as other start-of-day procedures.
Perform standard aircraft maintenance practices as defined in the company's Uncrewed Aerial System (UAS) maintenance manual.
Check and monitor nest equipment and conditions before, during, and after operations.
Maintain cleanliness and organization within the nest boundary.
Replace or reset operational equipment as directed.

Flight Operations and Support

Participate in daily team briefs and operational updates.
Maintain real-time communication with the Flight Operations Center using provided equipment.
Respond to and complete assigned field service tasks in a timely and professional manner.
Provide assistance during minor emergencies involving aircraft or equipment and report issues to the Flight Operations Manager (FOM).
Visually monitor airspace during operations and report any non-program aircraft or hazards to the pilot-in-command (PIC).
Monitor air traffic displays and hazardous weather conditions in the operating area, reporting critical information to the operations team.
Detect and report obstacles or hazards to flight and verify their location and height as requested.

Logistics and Mobility

Operate a company-provided light vehicle (such as a van) to transport equipment between operational sites.
Move aircraft between nests or operating areas as needed.
Safely recover aircraft that have landed outside the designated nest area.
Properly secure all nest equipment and facilities at the conclusion of operations each day.

Qualifications

FAA Part 107 Certification (must be current and valid).
Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
Strong situational awareness and attention to detail.
Excellent verbal communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to operate company-provided vehicles safely (valid driver's license required).

Preferred:

Experience in drone operations, field service, or aviation-related technical roles.
Familiarity with UAS systems, maintenance procedures, or flight operations protocols.
Previous experience in logistics, safety, or field support operations.
