The Aviation Coordinator is responsible to coordinate the aviation department, reflective of his/her experience and specialties, and teach courses each quarter. This individual guides students through courses of the program and must possess a thorough understanding of the aviation program.

- Ensures that students have opportunities to meet the graduate learning outcomes.
- Advise students within program and problem-solve, as needed
- Be available to students, staff and other faculty
- Oversight of students’ work and progress within program.
- Build a community and industry network to support students in their job search.
- Work with current students and graduates to secure placement in the industry.
Educational Leadership: planning, direction and coordination
- Provides leadership in all matters relating to the Aviation program.
- Oversees all aspects of online delivery through the Moodle platform.
- Coordinates research initiatives related to online education.
- Maintains accurate ground records.
Curriculum
- Reviews course syllabi for appropriate resources and educational objectives.
- Develops curriculum (or revises as needed, on a regular basis) and initiates curricular change as assessment indicates to insure integrity, efficacy, and relevance.
- Assist instructors in updating courses into established guideline recommendations.
- Create and implement an assessment plan for the program that measures outcomes for program improvement.
- Serve as subject matter resource for support and encouragement for program faculty.
Program Development
- Provides a review of the Aviation program and recommends changes and suggestions to improve marketability.
- Assist the marketing team in developing strategies and participating in admissions events as required
- Act as a liaison between Academy College and external organizations and institutions
- Builds and maintains a working relationship with FAA regulators.
- Develop partnerships with organizations for program development/expansion
- Instructing (as necessary) within the aviation program(s)
Hiring
- Identify and hire faculty for the aviation program
- Conduct instructor evaluations at the end of each course
Accreditation and Regulatory Approval
- Participate in accreditation process
- Participate in external advisory group meetings
- Stay current with licensure and accreditation requirements for program, under both FAA and ACCSC regulations.
