Do you have an eye for detail and a passion for developing innovation solutions? Join our team! As a Data Scientist III at SNC, your fundamental responsibility will be to derive value out of data. You will use skills like advanced data mining to proactively acquire information from various sources. You will process, cleanse, and validate the data integrity of that data and enhance it where required using third party data sources and other techniques. Finally, you will use statistical modeling, machine learning techniques, and ad-hoc analysis to build high quality predictive and prescriptive solutions for the enterprise.
The Data Scientist will demonstrate a high ability to learn new software programs and applications while adapting the capabilities of that software to solve company-specific problems. Specific software applications include databases, decision management applications and optimization analyses. The Data Scientist must be familiar with data-driven analytics or the use of data to make decisions, draw conclusions, or make recommendations based upon the data.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelors Degree in a related field with at least 6 years of relevant experience. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education
- Data-oriented personality
- Excellent communication skills
- Applied statistics skills, such as distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc.
- Understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms
- Experience with Systecon’s OPUS Suite, Air Force Weapon System Management Information System, Integrated Maintenance Data Systems, US Navy Common Readiness Model, or industry tools such as Trible Asset Lifecycle Management, Service Optimization, Last Mile Logistics, or Route Planning software applications
- Experience with data visualization tools, such as Power BI, Tableu, Microsoft Access or Excel, etc
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Inventory, Inventory control, spare parts, price analysis, stock levels, routing/sequencing, and optimizing of those factors to maximize customer objectives
- Experience in supply operations/supply management techniques, including estimating materials, quantities, man hours, product and standards verification
- Experience with AWS Data Warehousing: AWS RDS (PostgreSQL), Redshift
- Experience with NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB, Cassandra, HBase, Amazon DynamoDB
- Experience with common data science toolkits, such as R, Weka, NumPy, MatLab, AWS Sagemaker, etc.
- Proficiency in using query languages such as SQL, Hive, Pig, etc
- Good scripting and programming skills: Python, PySpark, Scala, R, etc
- Masters Degree in Systems Engineering
