About This Role
Join CAEu2019s Business Aviation Training Centre as a Facility & EHS Specialist based in Vienna, Austria (Schwechat).
Our new 8,000-square-metre facility will be opened in April 2025 and has space for expansion with a capacity for up to nine Full Flight Simulators and is purpose-built to deliver the most advanced pilot training experience in Central Europe.
In this dual support role and with the guidance of the Global Health & Safety Manger, you will act as the site competence person supporting both Health and Safety as well as Facility Management responsibilities locally.
Key Responsibilities
- Procuring services and contracts and managing 3rd party contractors related to Health and Safety, environment and facility management.
- Cost management of building projects and recertifications ensuring that the TFM provider delivers on contract and on budget.
- Accountable for oversight and delivery on facility upgrades and projects and provide CAPEX cost for future projects providing a project management function.
- Producing and implementing specific site operations safe working programs and practices.
- Creating and maintaining procedures for all departments and groups within the centre.
- Overseeing and coordinating the implementation of such programs and procedures providing H&S expertise and advice.
- Conducting and completing site operations risk assessments to ensure risks are reduced to meet corporate standards.
- Inspecting the site periodically reporting to management team any deficiencies identified to maintain safety standard and monitor the effectiveness of safety policies and procedures.
- Assisting with training requirement specific to H&S matters and deliver in house training programs as per legal expectations and CAE H&S Standardu2019s.
- Assisting the site operations manager in the reporting of incidents and near misses and following up on them to ensure legal compliances is respected with the aim of the possible impact on business operation is limited.
- Assisting and actively monitoring of approved contractor and sub-contractors on site operations and the control of the high-risk activities to prevent serious injury and damage to site operations and/or equipment
- Immediate reporting of any non-compliancy or environmental concerns to the Operations Manager in the event of an Environmental emergency, including necessary actions and follow upu2019s as agreed.
- Guiding the site towards compliance with the environmental requirements.
- Providing environmental reporting to the Manager of Global Environment with environmental information and reports as requested.
- Ensuring that the monthly environmental walk around is conducted on a monthly basis and reports produced to track this.
Our ideal candidate
- Is fluent in both German and English (written and spoken).
- Brings 4-5 years of experience from a similar role.
- Holds a Health & Safety qualification and/or has proven understanding of local Health & Safety legislation and facility management standards.
- Has experience in supporting local audits as well as creating and presenting reports to our leadership teams.
- Has experience in Project Management, negotiating and managing project costs and project on-time delivery.
Contract details & location
This on-site position is based at our Business Aviation Training Centre in Vienna (Schwechat). We are offering a permanent contract, 40 hours weekly, Monday to Friday.
