Job Description

Responsible for performing basic and routine electronic and mechanical assembly operations on components, printed circuit boards, and subassemblies. You will install and assist with testing unmanned ground vehicle systems in various vehicles at our facilities or customer locations. You will apply appropriate processes, procedures, safety measures, and tools to support ground vehicle system assembly and installation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electronics assembly and electro-mechanical hardware installations independently or as part of a team to support Unmanned Vehicle programs.
  • Position and align parts in specified relationships to each other and mount assembled components on panels or circuit boards.
  • Route electrical cables and wiring, connect and adjust mechanical linkages, and mount brackets and electronic enclosures in a neat and organized manner.
  • Cut and drill into sheet metal or plastic of vehicles as required to facilitate hardware installation while minimizing collateral damage.
  • Use hand tools and follow work instructions, schematics, and blueprints to perform assembly and troubleshooting tasks.

  • Ability to interact appropriately with the public
  • Adherence to workplace rules
  • Knowledge of electro-mechanical systems in the automotive industry
  • Basic knowledge of automotive mechanics and electrical systems
  • Working knowledge of a multi-meter
  • Ability to create technical sketches (by hand or using CAD software)
  • Effective reading and writing skills in English
  • Experience with technical writing

Work Environment

The position follows a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off, with typical hours from 7 AM to 5 PM. You should be available on off Fridays and weekends when needed. The work environment includes both production and office settings, requiring the ability to stand and sit for long periods, perform repetitive motions, and handle small parts assembly. You must possess a valid driver’s license, be physically capable of maneuvering inside various types of vehicles, and work in unconditioned air outdoors. The role requires minimal supervision and good teamwork skills, with up to 25 travel by air or motor vehicle. You must be able to obtain a passport for overseas travel at the companys expense and lift up to 50 pounds.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of FORT WALTON BEACH, Florida.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
