Our Lufkin facility will be focused on performing major instrument panel upgrades on the Piper PA46 family of aircraft. You will be working on high-end turbocharged and turbine aircraft giving them the latest in engine and flight instrumentation. A broad skill set that encompasses not only traditional A&P skills but also includes electrical harness design, computer-assisted design (CAD), and a strong background knowledge of electronics will be a great asset to the successful candidate.
- Fabricates and installs wiring assemblies and associated sheet metal panels and brackets.
- Removes and installs avionics systems
- Fabricates and leak tests pitot-static systems.
- Performs required pitot-static and transponder ramp tests.
- Proficient with ramp test equipment for altimeter, transponder, and nav systems
- Follows manufacturer's aircraft maintenance manuals, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, illustrated parts catalog, and service bulletins.
- Reads electrical schematics and uses them to troubleshoot and repair aircraft avionics systems.
- Configures and verifies correct function of aircraft electronics from Garmin, Avidyne, Dynon, and other manufacturers
- Executes all required documentation as work is being completed in connection with assigned duties.
- Uses and operates ground support equipment, as applicable in a safe manner.
- Completes assignments with little or no rework.
- Works with management to develop work schedules
- Act as a mentor and help train less experienced avionics technicians.
- Interface effectively with members of management and coworkers
