JSfirm Member Press: DynCorp International Appoints Gregory S. Nixon as New General Counsel
FALLS CHURCH, Va. – August 7, 2009 – DynCorp International has appointed Gregory S. Nixon Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, effective 21 September 2009.
Mr. Nixon joins DynCorp International from McKinsey & Company, Inc., where he has served since 2007 as Associate General Counsel and Assistant Secretary, as well as Vice-President and General Counsel of their business division responsible for federal, state, and local public sector services and contracts. Prior to McKinsey & Company, he was Principal, Associate General Counsel and Assistant Secretary at Booz Allen Hamilton, where he was lead attorney for the Global Government Business division. He also practiced law in the commercial litigation group at Howrey LLP. He has extensive experience and expertise in legal issues relating to contingency contracting in conflict areas.
After service as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Air Force, he held government positions with the U.S. Government Accountability Office and as Special Counsel in the U.S. Navy Office of the General Counsel. He currently holds the rank of Lt. Colonel in the U.S. Air Force Judge Advocate General’s (JAG) Corps Reserve.

Mr. Nixon holds a J.D. degree from Georgetown University Law Center and a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Tuskegee University. He has been honored with the Meritorious Service Medal and the U.S. Air Force Commendation Medal, and served on the presidential transition team for President Obama.
