The Production Planner is responsible for creating work orders and scheduling production of key fabricated parts to support the Fabrication Value Stream.

Review Master Production Schedules and Work Orders and confer with Planners, Supervisors, Sales and Engineering to communicate daily priorities for specific customer orders to shop floor; Coordinate materials delivery information with Buyers as necessary

Review Kanban and Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) requirements daily to release jobs to production through the creation of Work Orders in the Oracle ERP System; Change or split open Work Orders as required

Experience: 3+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with inventory responsibilities

Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the manufacturing process used in the operating unit of assignment; Working knowledge of buying, and ordering procedures; working knowledge of production planning, material requirements planning and Kanban systems; working knowledge of computer systems that support production, e.g., inventory control, purchasing, production scheduling and MRP

Skills/Abilities: Well-developed skill in communicating with others; Proficiency in Excel and Word and ability to work with Access databases; Ability to coordinate materials and production schedules with multiple teams, solve urgent problems associated with manufacture of products and document and communicate production outcomes and trends; Ability to perform math and logic computations requiring sequencing of times, critical incidents, and numeric information; Ability to negotiate changes with vendors and manufacturing teams; Ability to learn the techniques associated with Kanban systems.

Education/Certification: High School diploma or equivalent
- Eligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment
- BA or BS degree in Supply Chain, Business, or Materials-related field
Top Benefits:
Salary range: $83,000 to 110,000. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications. Some roles may be eligible for participation in performance-based bonus programs.
