Overview

Job Summary 

Responsible for the successful operation of the FAA Approved Repair Station in all aspects of aircraft completion/manufacturing and/or maintenance. 

  Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following.  

 

  • Develop work rules to ensure safe, efficient, compliant operations to meet Company objectives 
  • Responsible for all 145 operational activities on a 24/7 on-call basis. 
  • Assist in proof reading field approvals and complex certification documents.  
  • Assists in the development of budgets and the control costs within organizational budget, including reduction of costs as possible 
  • Directs, Supports and Assists their direct reports in completion of company goals. 
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations such as Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations, AS9100 and customer requirements. 
  • Responsible for and Develops schedules for the completion of customer assets taking into consideration operational factors such as manpower, building, supply chain, environment and all other potential impacting factors / events.    
  • Functions as the primary focal point for completions between the Denver and Decatur facilities. 
  • Ensures that adequate training, equipment, materials and competent personnel as needed are available for operations and assists in the development of any plans for identifying and correcting deficiencies. 
  • Coordinate external companies and individuals, such as our Pilots, to support delivery schedules 
  • Ensure all documentation of completed work orders and inspection forms shall be maintained in such a manner that the documentation pertaining to a specific item repaired can be readily located for review. 
  • Ensure that no defective, unserviceable, or non-airworthy parts are used. 
  • Lead and Champion C.I. efforts for 145 operational areas. 
  • Run, organize or participate in operational program status meetings
  • Recommend changes to and maintain the facility to accomplish the divisional objectives 
  • Other Duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities 

Directly supervises Avionics and Mechanical Completions Supervisors.  Carries out Supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include supporting the efforts of their direct reports in interviewing, selecting, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.  For Exempt Managers:  Managers that carry out these responsibilities for two or more employees will have significant input in hiring and termination decisions. 

 

Qualifications

Education & Experience 

  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and seven or more years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred 
  • 3 years of management experience in Operations / Repair Station environment, 5 years’ experience preferred  
  • 5 years of aircraft modification / maintenance experience.  
  • 10 years’ experience working in a manufacturing / fabrication or completions/maintenance environment 
  • Extensive knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations. 
  • Knowledge of the use and completion of FAA Form 8130-1, Issuance of Airworthiness Certification. 
  • Intermediate knowledge of general quoting and bidding process 
  • Basic knowledge of Federal, State and Local Government contract bidding / award requirements 
  • Intermediate knowledge of avionics systems integration 
  • Knowledge of Federal, State and Local Government contract bidding / award requirements 
  • Experience with EMI, FADEC and HIRF testing requirements. 

 Skills 

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a high degree of collaboration at all levels 
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills, both written and verbal  
  • Ability to manage several projects concurrently, while setting standards of excellence under pressure. 

Computer Skills 

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook   
  • Basic knowledge and skills needed to use the internet for manufacturer’s websites, FAA websites and basic search functions as needed. 
  • Knowledge and use of Adobe Professional for the creation of PDF’s and combining PDF’s into one document  
  • Knowledge and use of a DWG (AutoCAD format) reader. 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations 

FAA Airframe and Power plant Certificate with 5 years’ experience. 

Pay Range
USD $97,850.00 - USD $151,675.00 /Yr.
