Job Description:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Perform as the company UAS Subject Matter Expert
  • Perform the role of Pilot in Command or Visual Observer for UAS operations
  • Develop flight plans and risk assessments
  • Maintain operational paperwork and UAS records
  • Responsible for UAS maintenance and maintenance records
  • Responsible for company UAS process implementation and process improvement
  • Obtain data for land topography, environmental, and other inspection needs
  • Perform data management and develop client deliverable output
  • Operate laser scanning equipment and data processing
  • Perform drafting as part of a project team when not performing UAS work

Job Requirements:
Essential skills and experience:
  • Two or more years of experience as an UAS (Unmanned Aircraft Systems) Pilot
  • Understanding of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations
  • Understand FAA airspace classifications
  • Understand the FAA process to obtain ATC authorizations and UAS operational waivers
  • Communicate and operate effectively as part of a UAS team
  • Safely operate UAS in a high risk environments
  • Aware of utility space job hazards with the ability to mitigate
  • Must be willing to follow client and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) at all times
  • Must be familiar with operating scanning equipment and post data processing
  • Must be familiar with AutoCad, AutoCad 3D, or Microstation
Valued but not required skills and experience:
  • FAA Part 107 Certification
  • Experience with UAS processing software programs similar to PIX4d
  • Experience incorporating UAS / UAV / Drone data into client deliverables
  • Experience operating laser scanning equipment
  • Experience performing drafting duties
