Position Summary
At Parker Lord, we specialize in turning great ideas into practical solutions. The Accounting intern will work with the Plant Controller and Plant Accounting Manager to support the Erie, PA manufacturing facility. Interns gain a valuable understanding of real-world projects, tasks, challenges, and opportunities that exist within the industry. This paid internship can be used as a springboard into the Accounting Leadership Development Program, by which practical experience gained during a summer internship creates an exceptionally prepared candidate.
Responsibilities
The intern will gain experience in the following areas:
- Month End Financial Closing Activities
- Inventory Control and Cycle Count Program Oversight
- Standard Costing of Manufactured Parts
- Budget Planning and Forecasting
- Fixed Asset Tagging Program
- Along with other job duties, as required
Qualifications
Required Education:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance at an accredited 4-year college or university in the United States
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
Preferred Education:
- Rising Senior or Graduate Student
- Accounting Coursework
Qualifications:
- Computer Proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively on a variety of assignments
- Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team member
